A good size group of 10 walkers set off from Purlingbrook Falls Carpark at 8.30 am. We walked clockwise down towards Purlingbrook Falls and then onto Waringa Pool where we had our morning tea. Lovely to just sit there and hear the water but then as we left it started raining lightly.
It got a bit heavier as we walked along so many of us had our umbrellas up or ponchos on. We passed many young people on the track and they were all heading down to Warringa Pool, most seemed to be heading there for a swim. Most of them said that they had been to a "Technical Conference". When we got back up to the car park there was a large bus there which explained how they had all arrived.
It was raining a bit heavier now and so we decided to have our lunch in the large undercover area. After we had all been sitting there eating and chatting away for a while it was decided that since the rain hadn't let up that "for safety sake" we wouldn't do the Twin Falls Circuit as it could now be quite slippery because it is a bit rocky along the track.
We all went for our "after walk cuppas" at Scuttlebutt but it was really, really busy as a busload of tourists were there having their lunch. It took quite a while for us all to get our drinks and a few hiccups with the orders as well but we had a great time chatting away while we waited.
The rain had continued while we sat there but just before we left it let up and the sun came back out a bit. Too late now! We were all in "go home" mode after having our cuppas. Was still a good day, even though cut short because of the weather? Springbrook is a lovely place to walk and so we'll be back again soon. Julie
