Our first stop was Fred Bucholz lake where we thrilled to see a small flock of Pink-eared ducks swimming very low in the water. Also around were Pelicans, Egrets, Cormorants, Hardhead ducks, Ibis, Moorhens, Black winged Stilts, Coots, comb-crested jacanas and Red-kneed Dotterel, overall a very good selection of Waterbirds. We then proceeded to Flagstone Creek Road which is a long dirt road with bush habitat, lots of eucalyptus trees, good dams and creeks. There were Bee eaters calling and the flowering eucalyptus and melaluccas gave us Scarlet, yellow-faced, white-throated, blue-faced striped and Lewin’s Honeyeaters.
