Birds in Backyards Best Practice Guidelines |

Hello Everyone
Check out this excellent web site from the Australian Museum and Birds Australia
Harry

Backyards Best Practice Guidelines are now available on our website at: http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/spaces/guidelines.cfm These are all free for you to download.
Importantly, these Guidelines are not only designed for home gardeners. Developing effective habitat for birds in urban areas cannot be achieved just by the occasional bird friendly garden (though these are great). Change needs to be achieved at the landscape scale. Whole communities need to be involved and that includes local governments and others who are responsible for the bigger urban picture.
You will see that we have not only the scientific report available, but we have also developed a set of seven handouts which summarise the major findings from this report that applies to a range of different users. They are available for:
- Bushland Managers and Bushcare Volunteers
- Local Councils, Planners and the Housing Industry;
- Landscape Architects;
- Schools;
- Street Tree Planners;
- Open Space Managers – public parks and gardens;
- Domestic (home) gardeners
